Dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA) is a natural steroid prohormone produced from cholesterol by the adrenal glands, the gonads, adipose tissue, brain and in the skin (by an autocrine mechanism). DHEA is the precursor of androstenedione, which can undergo further conversion to produce the androgen testosterone and the estrogens estrone and estradiol.

DHEA can be understood as a prohormone for the sex steroids.

You might really want to talk this over with your doctor. He will advise you on how to use it, and if its deemed safe or harmful

Anyone have any working knowledge of DHEA, and it's effects on a woman's libido? I know it is one element of the larger picture, I am just not very educated on the technical side of things, what is DHEA, and what can I do to regulate the amount of it in my body?
