Do adult shop aphrodisiacs really work?
Do not let your diminishing sex drive keep you down. There are other ways to increase your libido, and they don’t include exercising or setting your bedroom ablaze with scented candles – although, that stuff doesn’t hurt. Studies have proven that natural herbs found in some adult store supplements can certainly enhance arousal.
Arginine
This amino acid forms nitric oxide in the body, which increases blood flow in the nether region. It is most commonly found meat, nuts, eggs, coconut milk and cheese. But, there is no need to increase your calorie intake when this herb is readily available.
Epimedium
This herb is said to act as an androgen (sex hormone) and might stimulate sexual desire in women who are androgen-deficient. It has been proven to work when tested in animals – and we are practically animals, so I’m fairly certain it will work on us, too.
Yohimbe
This herb comes from the bark of a West African evergreen tree. It is used both as an herbal aphrodisiac and in a prescription drug used for erectile dysfunction in men. Its primary active ingredient blocks alpha-2 adrenergic receptors AND increases dilation of blood vessels, which are both involved in achieving and maintaining an erection. However, as with most herbal supplements, yohimbe can be dangerous if taken in the wrong quantities. So, don’t overdo it.
Bottom line is, if doing yoga and getting tangled up in Kama Sutra poses are not helping, and eating strawberries dipped in chocolate sauce is affecting your waistline, try popping an herb or two. Just follow the dosage directions carefully.
