Penis Extricated from Steel Pipe

Everyone has a most embarrassing moment. Occasionally, men may experience an erection at an inappropriate time. Fortunately, the vast majority of those incidents are not broadcast on worldwide news.

Last week, a British man managed to get his penis stuck inside of a steel pipe. It probably seemed like a good idea at the time. Unfortunately, the blood flow restrictions inside the pipe managed to result in an erection that could not be removed from the steel pipe without emergency medical assistance.

The medical staff at Southampton General Hospital was unable to free the man’s engorged penis from the pipe, and firefighters were summoned to cut the metal pipe away from the penis. You’d think that would have softened him up?

A four-and-a-half inch grinding tool was used to cut the pipe. A major concern was increasing heat levels created by friction between the grinder and the pipe, but the actual procedure was not nearly as sexy as that sounds. The tax-payer funded procedure lasted for 30 minutes, while the man was under anesthesia.

The 40-year-old man (whose name was not disclosed) suffered no injury to his penis; injury to his ego is likely. The man did not disclose to emergency response personnel just how exactly his penis ended up lodged in the pipe, but I think we can figure it out.
